Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Limited 
ADGAS was established in 1973 to be the first gas liquefaction company in the whole Middle East region. An agreement was then signed with Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), to build a plant on Das Island with an initial annual production capacity of 2.5 million tons of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and 800.000 tons of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The agreement provided that TEPCO would buy the plant’s production for 20 years. The first LNG shipment left Das Island in April 1977.
 
Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO
The Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO) operates onshore and in shallow coastal water of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, one of the seven members of the United Arab Emirates which was established on 2nd December 1971. The original concession agreement was made with Petroleum Development (Trucial Coast) Ltd. On 11th January 1939, but geological work did not begin until after the Second World War. Exploratory drilling began in Abu Dhabi in February 1950.

ADWEA is a national organization wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi Government, maintaining a separate legal entity, as well as complete financial and administrative independence. ADWEA has been incorporated by virtue of law No. 2 issued in March 1998 to replace the former Water & Electricity Department.

The story of ADMA-OPCO and its progression over the years is reflected in the phenomenal transformation of Abu Dhabi itself from an island characterised by simple dwellings, with fishing and pearl-diving as the main source of living, to a modern cosmopolitan city, encompassing multi- faceted businesses.
In the early days, surveys carried out by oil companies revealed the existence of oil in huge commercial quantities in the seabed of two oil-bearing fields: Umm Shaif and Zakum. The two fields became major oil and gas producers, yielding hydrocarbons for more than 48 years, and up to the present time.
 
     
 

Petroleum Devlopment Oman (PDO)
Petroleum Development Oman is the foremost exploration and production company in the Sultanate. It accounts for more than 70% of the country's crude-oil production and nearly all of its natural-gas supply. The Company is owned by the Government of Oman (which has a 60% interest), Royal Dutch Shell (which has a 34% interest), Total (which has a 4% interest) and Partex (which has a 2% interest). The first economic find of oil was made in 1962, and the first consignment of oil was exported in 1967.
